SOUTHERN MARYLAND FALL 2017 CLASS – Consulting, Training, and Development Services partnered with St Mary’s County Department of Economic Development, Charles County Department of Economic Development, Calvert County Department of Economic Development, Rollout Systems, LLC, Disk Enterprise Solutions, Barbara and Glen Ives and the Southern Maryland America Job Center to provide Project Opportunity^SM to veterans who reside in Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties. After the completion of the orientation and telephonic screening assessments a total of six (6) veterans were accepted into the program. Here is a summary of their business ventures:

• Property Management
• Tree Service
• Management/Leadership Consulting
• Food Truck
• Video Production

Classes started on September 25, 2017 at the St Mary’s County Government Building which was provided by the St. Mary’s County Department of Economic Development.

The Graduation Ceremony was held on December 4, 2017 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.  A total of four (4) veterans completed the course and graduated. Those business ventures that these graduating veterans are seeking to start or expand are:

• BackHat Property Investment, LLC
• Xylem Land Management
• Hero4U Enterprises

Secretary George W. Owings III, Secretary Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs was the Guest Speaker.
