2016 Project OpportunitySM Graduation, Anne Arundel & Howard County – Spring

ANNE ARUNDEL & HOWARD COUNTY SPRING 2016 CLASSConsulting, Training, and Development Services partnered with The Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation and the Howard County Office of Workforce Development to provide Project OpportunitySM to veterans who reside in Anne Arundel and Howard Counties. After the completion of the orientation and telephonic screening assessments a total of eight (8) veterans were accepted into the program. Here is a summary of their business ventures:

  • Non Profit Translation Services
  • Indoor Sports and Recreation Center
  • Software/Web Development
  • Staffing
  • Golf Club
  • Real Estate
  • Translation Services for Legal and Medical Documents
  • Veteran Centric Support Shop

Classes started on March 8, 2016 at the Anne Arundel Community College Career and Resources Center.

The Graduation Ceremony was held on May 17, 2016 at the Anne Arundel Community College Career and Resources Center.  A total of four (4) veterans completed the course and graduated. Two veterans had to withdraw from the course due to personal issues. Those business ventures that these graduating veterans are seeking to start or expand are:

  • Messoti Brand and Brand Management Firm
  • Sports and Family Indoor Facility
  • Video Resume Service
  • Under Par Golf Club

Emma McClain, Owner of Nurse Consults LLC and a Project OpportunitySM Glen Burnie Spring 2014 Class Graduate was the Keynote Speaker.

Katina McDonald, a graduate of the Project OpportunitySM Fall 2014 Class held in Odenton, Maryland and Owner of Photography by Katina McDonald provided the photographic services for the ceremony.

Murraydine Catering, owned by Murraydine Williams a Project OpportunitySM Anne Arundel Fall 2015 Class Graduate sponsored the Graduation Ceremony.
