Kristen Bacon has spent the last 14 years of her career working with entrepreneurs. She began her career at the YWCA of Delaware as a Trainer/Business Consultant, working with entrepreneurs to develop their business plans, as well as leading training sessions for small business owners. In 2008, Kristen joined Maryland Capital Enterprises as a Training Coordinator/Business Consultant. There she was responsible for training several entrepreneurs and assisting them in developing business plans and providing additional resources for starting, operating and growing small businesses.
Kristen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Salisbury University and her Masters of Business Administration degree from Wilmington University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Business Administration degree. In addition, Kristen is a certified trainer in two nationally recognized entrepreneurship curriculums – NxLevel® and Core Four®. She has also taught the Kauffman FastTrac curriculum. She currently serves as an adjunct instructor for Wor-Wic Community College, as well as Delaware Technical Community College.
In addition to her current role as Special Programs Director at Delaware Technical Community College, Kristen also owns her own social media consulting company. Previously Kristen was the owner of a construction company in Delaware. Certainly not a stranger to entrepreneurship, Kristen understands and believes that the nature of being an entrepreneur means being that you fully embrace ambiguity and are comfortable with being challenged regularly. Starting a company is a riveting roller coaster of emotions with tremendous highs and at times, difficult lows. However, success is yours for the making!
